This project is a Rehabilitation of a former historical Broadway Federal Bank originally designed by renowned architect Paul R. Williams in 1966. The original building is characterized by the transparency provided by its distinguish double height exterior columns. The proposed project plans to preserve and emphasize the work of the original architect while implementing the new program provided by the client. The client request is to convert the vacant 4,779 sf bank  into a new 6,800 sf restaurant.

The process involves identifying and restoring the main architectural elements that makes this a significant building for the public and making sure that those elements are retained and reconstructed under today’s safety codes and regulations while maintaining the essence of the original building. New exterior additions were added along the back of the building to meet the square footage for the new program criteria without affecting the historic spatial relationships that are visible along Venice Boulevard.
